Rava Idly

1.Rava- 2 cup
2.Curd-1 1/2 cup
3.Milk-1 1/4 cup
4.Baking powder-1/2 tsp
5.Ghee -2 tsp
6.Red chilly-2
7.Mustard-3/4 tsp
8.Green chilly-2
9.Ginger(cut into small pieces)-1 tsp
10.Cashew nuts-10
11.Carrot(grated)-1/2 cup
12.Salt-to taste

1.Heat ghee in a pan and splutter mustard and red chilly .Add cashew nuts and fry it.
2.Add ginger and green chilly and saute it.
3.Add rava into it and fry till it gets golden brown.
4.Let it cool.
5.Then add curd,milk,grated carrots ,baking powder and salt.Mix well.
6.Heat water in an idly maker.
7. Take the idly mould and apply little oil in the moulds.Then pour the batter to the idly moulds and steam for about mins.

Mostly in karnataka and andra rava idlies r popular.For a change you can try itand also u can taste different type idly!

Want to try your recipe. Do I have to use idly rava or just plain rava.

HI RAKHEE ,i think we can use both ...bcoz i tried with both rava and it came out well!..have a happy cooking..
